Enhance Potential was founded in 2006 by Tina McCarthy and the Head Office is based in Windsor, Berkshire, UK

Tina McCarthy BSc. MSc. C.Occ.Psychol.
Tina is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who studied at Bradford and Sheffield Universities. She started working as a consultant in 1991 with the SHL Group, the world’s largest occupational psychology consultancy. She spent ten years with SHL during which she managed a team of consultants and was involved in a diverse selection of consultancy projects spanning clients across all industry sectors.
In 2001 Tina became an independent consultant, working in partnership with a wide range of clients from the private, public and not-for-profit sector in the UK and internationally. In 2006 she set up her own consultancy called Enhance Potential to reflect her main focus which is enhancing the potential of individuals, teams and organisations using her dynamic and targeted approach to accelerate development through bespoke interventions.
Tina specialises in:
- executive coaching, often including 360° feedback
- the design and facilitation of Leadership and Management Development programmes
- team building workshops;
When offering executive coaching Tina aims to respond in a tailored way to the needs of each individual and will often use psychometric instruments and 360 degree assessments as a starting point. Tina is British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A and B qualified and is licensed to use a number of psychometric and personality type instruments including: Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), JCA’s Emotional Intelligence Individual Effectiveness (ie) questionnaire, FIRO Element B, WAVE, OPQ and the full range of SHL products.

Patrick Gibbons MSc C Psychol AFBPsS
Patrick is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with extensive experience in the field of business psychology. He started his working career in retail at Selfridges Ltd before gaining an MSc in Occupational Psychology from The Queen’s University Belfast in 1992. In 1993 he joined Saville and Holdsworth Ltd (SHL®) where he gained considerable consulting experience in assessment and development, training design and delivery, and the research and development of psychometrics. From there he joined KPMG Consulting in London in 1997, where he worked on a wide range of strategic HR, organisation development and change management client projects around the world. These projects often involved facilitating team building events and working with top teams and Boards.
He joined the BBC as Head of Organisational Psychology in 2001 for four years to lead a team delivering a wide range of recruitment, assessment, coaching and organisation development projects, including development centres and 360 degree feedback.

He is trained in the use of a broad range of psychometric measures including OPQ®, MBTI, Level A, 16PF, Saville Consulting Wave®, SHL Motivation Questionnaire and the Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI). He has also been trained in advanced facilitation techniques, coaching and intercultural management (e.g. Fons Trompenaars’ Masterclass).
In addition to having co-authored research papers (e.g. in The Journal of Occupational and Organisational Psychology) he contributes as a reviewer to the British Psychological Society’s Review of Tests.

Coretta Barry. MA. MSc. MCIPD. CPsychol.
Coretta is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who studied at Glasgow and City Universities. Since graduating in 1995 she has enjoyed working with a wide range of FTSE 100 companies. After a successful career with Change Management specialists Frost Rowley, Coretta joined SHL as a senior consultant and it was here where she met and worked with Tina for four years. She then moved in-house and worked as an OD specialist with The Caudwell Group and Vodafone. Coretta became an independent consultant in 2004 and has been working with Enhance Potential since its inception. She offers a wide range of individual and organisational solutions, has a pragmatic approach and enjoys working with clients who are looking to achieve tangible business results.

Coretta is holds her Level A and Level B Certificates in Occupational Testing and is trained to use a number of psychometrics some of which include OPQ, MBTI, WAVE, FIRO, HDS and 360° instruments. She is also a qualified NLP Practitioner and is MCIPD qualified.

Carol Jefkins. MA. MSc. C Occ Psychol.
Carol Jefkins is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist working since 1992 in the area of assessment and development. She has worked in partnership with a wide range of clients across the full spectrum of industry, in the UK and internationally. When working with clients her aim is to balance best practice with commercial reality, and develop creative solutions that work within an organisation’s culture.
Carol gained an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Sheffield University. She started her career as a consultant with SHL, a leading firm of occupational psychologists, managing assessment and development projects for UK and international organisations. It was at SHL where she met and worked closely with Tina McCarthy.
In 1999 Carol became a Learning & Development Manager at One2One (now T-Mobile), where among other projects she was responsible for redesigning the organisational competency framework, improving performance management in the call centres and designing development centres to help technical professionals with career planning and personal development.
Carol has been an independent consultant since 2001, working with private and public sector clients to design assessment and selection processes and develop talented individuals through facilitation, feedback and coaching. Since 2001 Carol and Tina have worked on many projects together including a job-share arrangement for the Development Consultant role at GAM and the co-facilitation of several workshops.
Carol specialises in:
- Job analysis and competency design
- Assessment and Development Centres, including simulation exercises design
- Management development workshops, including competency-based interviewing
- Executive coaching, often including 360° feedback
Carol holds Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing Levels A and B, and is a registered user of numerous tests and questionnaires including the OPQ, SHL Motivation Questionnaire, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), 16PF, FIRO Element B, Saville Consulting WAVE and the Hogan Development Survey (HDS).
